Meet the Team

Dr. Byron Young is a graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his surgical residency and Masters of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2004. Prior to starting VSSC Dr. Young founded and directed the surgery program at Suncoast ER & Specialty Center. He excels in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and maintains special interests in reconstructive surgery, trauma surgery, and soft tissue oncologic procedures. Dr. Young is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncologists.
